Sutratma, Swamp Ass, Die Healing at Stages in Lompoc, CA

 

Just to keep things in order, here's a comic I drew closer to when the show actually happened but didn't post here right away in order to keep the show reviews roughly in the correct sequence and because I submitted it to the Santa Barbara Independent to use on their website. It looks like I never sent it to them though! So here it is. This is from January 31st, 2026. And... a few other bands played that I missed: Gilted Woods and Black Lament.

Hundred Bliss and Nuzzle at Permanent Records in Los Angeles

 

This show was the return of Nuzzle and there was a ton of energy in the room! It was on December 6th, 2025. I bought a live record of Sonic Youth's last show from George Chen and left my ATM card at the bar. Had to go back and get it and buy more records the next weekend.

This show happened in December of 2025. Rainer Maria played too but I missed them!

Street Eaters and Welt Star at The Smell in Los Angeles

This was a fun show, put on by the inimitable George Chen, even though we missed half of it (we were driving down from Santa Barbara, okay?) I got to meet up with some old friends from college who put us up and we got to go to Spoke for breakfast the next day and Donut Friends later!

Visions, Rival Cults, Sutratma, and Phobophlyptix at Casa De La Raza in Santa Barbara

 

This show happened on the 23rd of March in 2025. Sutratma has a new album, Adrift, available on their bandcamp page. Visions' second album, Decay, is available from Ebullition records in Goleta and Rival Cults' sophomore release, Our Gods Need Blood, is also available on their bandcamp page.

So these shows are getting a little bit out of order. Apparently, this show happened BEFORE Fishbone at SoHo in SB (1/24/25), BEFORE Leo Kottke at the Lobero (2/7/25), and BEFORE Orchid at the Belasco in LA (2/15/25) all of which were published in Feedback #17. However this comic will be published in Feedback #18 because FB 17 is already done. Let me know if you want a copy!
